It feels like the honeymoon period is over on my ICL surgery. Now I’m kind of annoyed by the minor lingering eye discomfort, and (this might be a personality issue) wracked by paranoia that every twinge is indication that I’m going to have to take them out, like a Flowers for Algernon situation

Unexpected consequence of permanent contacts* is I’m having trouble sleeping. I had gotten used to using my own blindness like a sleeping mask

*I’ve stopped saying “fixed my eyes” since through this process I’ve learned more about severe myopia and how poor vision is just one of my problems ☹️

Time to fix my second eye!
